Dermal Filler Aftercare Instructions
Thank you for choosing Skin Clique for your treatment! To ensure the best results and minimize any side effects, please follow these post-care instructions carefully:
Immediately After Treatment:
- Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated areas for at least 6 hours to allow the filler to settle properly.
- Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for the rest of the day to reduce the risk of infection.
- Apply an ice pack gently and intermittently (5-10 minutes at a time) to the treated area to reduce swelling or bruising (avoid putting direct pressure on the skin).
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, as hydration can help enhance your results.
For the Next 24-48 Hours:
- Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and heat exposure (such as saunas, hot tubs, or intense sun exposure) to prevent swelling or bruising.
- Avoid sleeping on your face for the first night to allow the filler to settle evenly. You may even add an additional pillow under your head to minimize swelling.
- Avoid any facials, massages, or treatments that involve the face for at least 2 weeks.
Common Reactions:
- You may experience mild swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness in the treated areas. This is normal and should subside within a few days. Arnica or bromelain supplements may help reduce bruising.
- Lumps or bumps may appear, but they typically resolve on their own within 1-3 weeks. If they persist or concern you, contact your provider.
Long-Term Care:
- Your provider will make sure you have a follow-up scheduled to evaluate your results and determine if any touch-ups are needed.
- Maintain a healthy skincare routine and protect your skin from sun exposure to extend the longevity of your filler. Consult with your provider to ensure you are using the right clinical skincare products and ingredients.
- If you experience any unusual symptoms, such as severe pain, discoloration, pale color or abnormal bruising that seems to travel, or prolonged swelling, please contact your provider immediately.
